The ground rules

Terms of use

Using Pacific Wealth Desk means you're okay with these terms, so it's worth a quick read. They say what the site is, what you can do with it and where our responsibility stops.

At a glance

  • Articles and calculators teach; they don't advise
  • A match is free and you owe nobody anything
  • Advisors work for themselves, not for this site
  • We can decline a request

The fine print

What you're agreeing to

  1. We're here to teach, not to advise

Pacific Wealth Desk publishes general financial education: articles on things like state taxes and California housing costs, plus calculators. None of it is advice tailored to you on investments, taxes, legal questions or insurance, and reading it doesn't make anyone your advisor.

  2. You can read it, print it and quote it

Read it, print a page for your records and quote short passages with credit. Please don't scrape it, republish it or resell it, because we keep the copyright in the text and the tools.

  3. Calculators show one possible picture

Each calculator states its assumptions on the page and runs in your browser. The result is an illustration built from your inputs, not a forecast, and a different tax bracket, rent or interest rate would change it.

  4. You can ask to be matched, at no cost

A match is free and doesn't oblige you to hire anyone. A person on our team reaches out to confirm what you need, then you're matched with a licensed advisor who specializes in California money questions. We can decline a request, and any advisory agreement is between you and the advisor, not us.

  5. Advisors work for themselves, not for us

Advisors on the network are independent of this site. Each hands you their own disclosures before you sign on, and any fee is worked out between you and that advisor.

  6. Advisors can open an account with us

Advisors sign up and pay through a card-payment provider, with fees shown before any purchase. An introduction isn't a guarantee of a client. We can turn down or pause an account, and every advisor stays responsible for their own registration, marketing rules and compliance.

  7. We can't promise more than we've said

As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for losses that come from relying on the articles, a calculator result, an ad, a link or an advisor you meet through us. We also can't promise the site will always be up or error-free. We may change these terms; the version on the site is the one that applies, and using the site after a change means you accept it.
